…and just like it’s 2019!

Depending on the type of business you run, at the moment you may be flat out or, you may be quiet and waiting for your customers and clients to get back from their holidays.

Me personally, I love this time of year. For both my business and that of my clients it’s all about reflection and about planning for the future.

It can also get a little overwhelming. Crafting marketing plans, setting our strategy and generally knowing which direction to take.

Sooooo – I have a challenge for you.

‘5 minutes, 5 things’

The name kind of gives it away. You get 5 minutes, to write down 5 answers to 5 questions.

The purpose?

This quick exercise will in 5 short minutes help you reflect on the year that just was, give you a springboard for the activities you want to incorporate and know what you should be leaving behind.

Are you up for the challenge?

Great!

Let’s go!

QUESTION 1:

Write down 5 things that you did really well over the last 12 months

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

QUESTION 2:

Write down 5 things that you really wanted to do but didn’t quite get there

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

QUESTION 3:

Write down 5 things you want to do more of this coming year

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

QUESTION 4:

Write down 5 things you want to do less of this coming year

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

QUESTION 5:

Write down 5 things that your business needs in order to grow in the next 12 months

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

And there you have it! The quick 5 minute exercise to get your mind focused on how to move forward and plan for the future.

There are no right or wrong answers and the questions are purposely vague so that you can take them in the direction that you want them. For example ‘what are 5 things you want to do less of this coming year’ – this could be anything from eating less chocolate, to taking on the wrong types of clients, to checking facebook too much. The point is – what’s going to serve YOU most by reducing your focus on it?

So give it a go and let me know if you find it useful!

Love your work!
